I have had the pleasure of knowing Dominic Rozzi for the last 25 years. For many years I have turned to Dominic for puppies for my training program. Dominic is someone I trust for his knowledge of dog breeding and training. Dominic is now a valued member of my North Edge K9 team training Military Veterans with PTSD dogs. I found Dominic’s Kennel through an internet search. I had owned German Shepherds for most of my life and really wanted to have a go with a Malinois. It turned out I got really lucky finding Dominic on my first phone call. On my initial phone call with him, he really took the time to figure out what I was looking for in a dog and why I wanted to have a Malinois. I could tell right off that he genuinely cared about the animals and was not interested in just making a sale. This really resonated with me. At the time of the call he did not have any puppies available, and said he would be having a breeding soon. Fast forward a few months and I was meeting Freya(my female) for the first time! Let the journey begin! I didn’t realize at the time that this was also going to get me involved with a great group of dog enthusiasts and some amazing trainers, Dominic being one of them. The experience has turned out to be more than I ever could have hoped for. I now have two amazing dogs from Dominic…yes two!! And a group of wonderful new friends. I have learned so much about dog training and dog sports over the past year. It’s been an amazing experience. I have two dogs from Dominic-one was bought as a pup and the other was an older female no longer used for breeding. They are our hiking and family companions. When we went to visit the pups and the adults, what we saw were strong and confident dogs with a lot socializing. The care they get along with good breeding are evident. I first met Dominic in 2015 while doing basic obedience training with my German Shepherd, Luna. In 2016, Dominic and his team began training service dogs for the nonprofit I am part of, K9s on The Front Line. I seek out the best and found him! I started working with Dom over 4 years ago training my 12-week-old Czech imported German Shepherd personal protection dog. As one of the most knowledgeable and honest training professionals out there, he has made me a better K9 handler and working dog owner. He encourages and guides you in identifying your goals, and then helps you train the dog you have in front of you. He has a wealth of information that he shares willingly and can trouble-shoot any situation by not only explaining thoroughly the “what,” but most importantly the “why” a behavior exists. That is a game-changer in dog ownership and training. Taking it to the next level; I got my first Belgian Malinois puppy from Dom. I could have gone with any breeder, but I chose Dom because I witnessed how he carefully and diligently approaches his selective breeding program coupled with the lifelong commitment he has to his clients. Upping my K9 handler skills, Dom has taught me a different approach that has resulted in my boy being the most stable, sound, confident, driven, and well-rounded dog. He has the character of the finest partner and protector.
